Claire House 2025
The air outside Claire House Children’s Hospice in on the Wirral hummed with a different kind of energy this weekend. It wasn’t the quiet serenity that often envelops this haven of care, but a vibrant, rumbling presence. The Deva Legion, a local HOG Chapter, renowned for their community spirit as much as their gleaming machines, had arrived. Today, their engines weren’t just roaring down the open road; they were carrying a powerful message of support and a cheque that represented countless hours of fundraising for this vital charity.
Claire House Children’s Hospice is a lifeline for families across Cheshire and Merseyside whose children face life-limiting conditions. They offer a sanctuary of specialist nursing care, emotional support, and a place where families can create precious memories together. From hydrotherapy and physiotherapy to art and music therapy, Claire House provides holistic care tailored to each child’s unique needs. They offer respite care, allowing exhausted parents a much-needed break, and vital end-of-life care delivered with compassion and dignity. The laughter that echoes through their corridors is a testament to their commitment to helping children live life to the full, however short that life may be.
The arrival of the Deva Legion was met with warm smiles from the Claire House staff and a palpable sense of anticipation. All wearing their cuts with pride, the bikers, a diverse group united by their passion for riding and their commitment to charity, presented a cheque for a significant sum – adding to the total of over £50,000 raised so far by them. This wasn’t just pocket change; it was the culmination of sales, raffles, rides, and countless other fundraising efforts undertaken by the Deva Legion throughout the year.
“It’s an honour for us to be here today,” said Stu, the Director of the Deva Legion. “We’ve seen firsthand the incredible work that Claire House does. They provide a beacon of light for families facing unimaginable challenges, and we, as a club, are determined to support them in any way we can.“
The cheque handover was a moving moment, a tangible symbol of community work. The representative from Claire House expressed profound gratitude for the Deva Legion’s ongoing support. He highlighted how the funds would directly impact the lives of the children and families they care for, enabling them to continue providing their essential services.
Speaking with staff and families, the Chapter members gained a deeper understanding of the environment they were helping to sustain. They heard about the sensory room, a calming space filled with lights and sounds designed to stimulate and soothe; the art room, where creativity flourishes; and the tranquil gardens, offering a peaceful retreat. The bikers were visibly moved by the warmth and dedication of the staff and the resilience of the children they met.
The visit wasn’t just about handing over a cheque; it was about maintaining a connection, a human-to-human understanding of the vital role Claire House plays in the community. As the Deva Legion prepared to depart, the rumble of their engines seemed to carry a renewed sense of purpose. They rode away, not just as a HOG Chapter, but as ambassadors of compassion, their generosity leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of everyone at Claire House. Their roar is indeed a roar of compassion, echoing the hope and care that Claire House provides every single day.
Following the presentation, members of the Deva Legion took a tour of the Wirral, enjoying the sights, before stopping to reflect and eat…!

Frostbite 2025
Great for the Deva Legion to have 8 bikes and 10 people join the Red Rose and Mancunium chapters at Southport on New Year’s Day. This is becoming an annual 3-chapter habit and one which is great!
Led by Simon and tailed by Stu McC, we meandered from Chester Services in wind, rain and sub-zero temperatures (okay, that bit is an exaggeration) only to find the cafe closed… but resilience led us to find an alternative!
