Visit to the Lord Mayor

The Deva Legion enjoyed some time with the Lord Mayor of Chester this week.

We’re preparing to travel to one of Chester’s twinned cities at the end of May: Senigallia, in Italy for the 2024 European H.O.G Rally.

Stu Norton (Director) suggested that “…the opportunity for a ‘gift exchange’ couldn’t be missed. When we contacted the Lord Mayor’s office, they were more than happy to support our cause”.

About twenty Harley-Davidsons travelled from their base at Chocks Away Diner in Hawarden to the town hall – it was a busy day for Chester as the races were on, and race-goers, tourists and shoppers alike were delighted to see us.

After the obligatory photo-shoot, members were invited on a tour of the town hall with the Lord Mayor. She told Paul Jones (Communications Officer) that the opportunity couldn’t be missed, noting that the connection was really appreciated, and that thanks should be offered to all involved.

What a Weekend

This weekend was a good one with about 30 members covering 400 miles of smiles each over the two days…

Saturday saw us led by Stu (our Director) to the newly opening Manchester H-D at the invitation of the Mancunium Chapter. A good run over with so0me of our new members joining us in glorious, chilly spring weather! Good to see some from Rolling Hills and Red Rose there too – and some old familiar faces! We then headed out in to Cheshire for a blast and a brew!

Sunday saw some of the same – our first official weekly ride-out from our new home at Chocks Away Diner in Broughton. What a run it was out to Barmouth – obviously by one of Paddy’s finest scenic routes! Another fab day with some great riding, company and scenery – and sunshine.

All in all a good weekend! Wanna be part of it, get in touch: contact@devalegionhog.co.uk

Progress & Prep…

We’ve been having some really good Chapter Breakfasts lately at the Chocks Away Diner at Hawarden Airfield. So good in fact that we have now installed the Deva Hut there, complete with windows and doors so that we can have a ‘recognised home’ for the Deva Legion… why not drop by one weekend and say ‘hi’ to us – we’re there every other Saturday from about 10am onwards, for more information email: contact@devalegionhog.co.uk

We carry on meeting monthly at the Whitby Sports and Social Club too – April was our Pizza and Movie month and May will be a quarterly meeting with special raffles and surprises in store!

We had the privilege last weekend to support the escort of the Normandy80 Silhouette Statues to Portsmouth with many other Chapters, a huge well done to all involved… the Deva Legion then called in at Southampton on the way back with our Director making a special purchase!

Finally, this weekend coming sees the opening of the Deva Legion riding season proper… we will attend Claire House Children’s Hospice, making our usual annual donation before heading out around the Wirral! Stay safe out there everyone.

2024 is rolling…

Great to see the months roll by and the weather getting better, the Deva Legion has been fortunate to be able to keep going from strength to strength recently with a number of exciting things happening: we have a new home at the Chocks Away Diner where you can find us every other Saturday morning (see the website calendar), we have constructed our club-house on the grounds of the airfield too – watch this space for more information on that one!

We’ve just had a really good weekend of Road Crew training seeing new Road Captains and Marshalls coming on board and giving our newer members the chance to try out group riding on relatively short ‘training’ runs…

And what’s next, well April sees the start of the season proper for us with a cheque drop-off to Claire House, and the first of our many ride-outs. See you all soon, stay safe out there.

Exciting Times!

A good couple of weeks has been had, and a good couple of weeks lies ahead for the Deva Legion, Chester.

Recently, we had our Monthly Chapter Meeting and Social – a great evening of updates, information, fundraising and a H.O.G presentation from our Director, Stu. Further that evening, we saw the final moments of the auction for a framed set of H-D poker chips receiving the winning bid from John, with another great donation to our charity: Claire House.

This weekend, a few of us – about 20 in fact – went to Golf Fang in Liverpool for food, drink and a round of the craziest golf we’ve experienced for a while! The things we do… there’s some pics of it here:

Anyway, exciting times as we start to get everything ready for the riding season again… keep an eye here, and follow us on Facebook and Insta!
