Another Great Deva Legion Social

Following the construction of the new Deva Legion Hut on the footprint of Fuel Up @ Chester H-D, it was great to wind down togwetgher with friends at the Amantola Indian Bar & Restaurant in Deeside last night (Saturday, the 13th).

Let’s break that down a bit: the new hut is an awesome edition at Chester Harley Davidson, donated by one of our awesome members, it will offer a base and shelter to the members and our guests… once delivered, it only took about 4-hours of supervisory discussions between a dozen or so blokes who all knew best, to get the structure up and water-tight – well done everyone, and thanks!

…and then we socialise – a great night organised by Paul Z and David (our intrepid Activities Team!). Thanks to all who made it so good, next time eh: those who couldn’t make it…

Cezar: is he mad!?

Big respect to our Deva Legion Brother, Cezar who attempted the NC500 at New Year – on his Harley Davidson, camping each night…! Raising hundreds for the Chapter charity (Claire House), he said it was bloody cold but well worth it! Hopefully he’ll give a talk at our AGM in February, join us there!

This Week

So, what does this week hold?

Well, we have the delivery and installation of the Deva Legion Hut to look forward to on Saturday morning – an awesome addition to the Chester H-D dealership and to the Fuel Up Cafe… we’re really excited, why not join us on Saturday morning for a brew and a butty!? That evening, Chapter members are off for a curry night! With at least 35 of us rocking up for a great evening of food, beer and good company!

Membership is now open, get in touch with us if you’re interested; if you’ve bought a bike from Chester H-D recently you may get it for free (the membership that is, not the bike!).

AGM – February 2024

The Deva Legion, Chester (H.O.G #9926) is holding its Annual General Meeting at 7pm on the 1st of February 2024. Members are reminded that if they have an interest in available Chapter Officer positions, they need to contact the Chapter Director before 14/1/24 to register an interest. This meeting is open to all members and guests, and is held at the Whitby Sports and Social Club – if you would like to come along then get in touch: contact@devalegionhog.co.uk.

Monthly Meeting

A great January meeting, plenty of people and information. For those who couldn’t be there, here’s a summary:

The Deva Christmas do was a great success, and enjoyed by everyone who attended; our Deva Legion Hut (shelter) will be delivered and constructed this month; we’ve had a couple of really good festive/ new year ride-outs already, there was also a good turnout at the Brewers Fayre for the post-Christmas breakfast, this could be repeated at some stage. £10 all you can eat – rude not to!

Black Mountains Chapter are doing a ‘Normandy 80’ run from Oxford/ Portsmouth, and want escorting on the UK side on 5th April ‘24, we’ll ensure full details about this get posted on social media soon; as a result, changes to the Claire House date have been made; this year, the Cider/ Oak Tree/ Hog in the Bog rallies are supported by us, again, we’ll be posting more about them soon (but there are rooms available now, contact Sue); it’s the AGM next month, food is planned at the social club – keep an eye out for updates…

Plans for a Road Crew meeting to be made soon, if you want to support this then contact Suggs; 2024 Membership needs finalising before January end please; AGM plans are going well – members should feel able to share some views in preparation so that these can be considered for 2024; safety is being revisited ready for the 2024 season too. John has taken the reins on this and suggested the use of Roadcraft as a starting point for developing riding skills. He also announced that a number of supporting activities will take place to engage safety and make membership more enjoyable – in a positive way..

2024 Calendars went on sale, with all profits going to Claire House, if you still want one there are a couple left… we have a Deva Legion Curry Night planned in January – £25pp including drinks. New-Neffyn (at Llangollen) is happening in February, full plans in place for entertainment and Paul has rooms reserved; thanks were offered at the meeting to Bob for the Jersey H-D poker chips. He was wise and purchased a few as they are closing down – donating them to us, to sell and raise £45 for Claire House. Thanks Bob!; H.O.G activities are good, Paul encourages us to do them! Ride 365, Deva mileage and ABCs of HOG are all really interesting, take a look.

Last minute reminder, breakfast this Saturday.
